Thanks to an invitation from a friend, I had the privilege of bringing my wife and daughter to Green Office, located in Espaillat, Dominican Republic, for a week of combined work and travel. Green Office is a remote working and vacation project developed by my friend. It offers a beautiful, private natural space, providing teams and individuals with an unparalleled remote working experience. While working, you can enjoy the stunning natural scenery with family or colleagues. The project is currently under development, and it is now in the VIP trial phase.

Departure from Vancouver

As there are no direct flights from Vancouver to Puerto Plata, we had to first fly from Vancouver to Toronto, and then connect to Puerto Plata Airport. The ticket price ranged between 800 and 1500 Canadian dollars per person. We flew with Air Canada, and because we are Aeroplan members, we were able to dine and rest for free in the Air Canada lounge during our layover. Although the journey was somewhat exhausting, it went very smoothly.

To enter the Dominican Republic, an e-Visa is required. We took care of this online before our departure. Their website has occasional glitches, but a few refreshes solve the problem. Customs was a breeze, the staff was very friendly, and after checking our passports and recording our fingerprints, we were free to continue our journey.

Arrival

Upon exiting Puerto Plata Airport, Joaquin, the concierge of the Green Office, was already waiting for us at the entrance. He is a very friendly local with fluent English. Driving and explaining along the way, we arrived at Green Office in less than 50 minutes, passing through Puerto Plata, Sosua, and Cabarete.

Entering the Green Office, the first thing that caught our eye was a vast green area, resembling a primordial forest. Tall coconut trees stood erect on the wide land, birds chirped around them, lush mango trees lined the roadside, and rows of palm trees neatly lined both sides of the road. Driving in from the entrance, we quickly arrived at the villa where we would be staying. After Joaquin briefly introduced the villa's layout and some considerations, we quickly settled down. As it is the VIP trial phase of Green Office, we stayed in the only Villa here, but the planning and signs of construction for the first phase of buildings around us were already clearly visible.
